Levels of Acheivement There are 6 Levels of Achievement included in the TICA JA Program which are as follows: Junior Novice, Junior Intermediate, Junior Advanced, Senior Novice, Senior Intermediate, and Senior Advanced. Each level consists of the following:
The form/checklist on each level will let the junior achiever know what the level requires and allow the junior achiever to track his progress with the help of his mentor. The first level which is the Junior Novice level will also have an application to fill out and information on becoming a TICA Junior member. The personal project may be a written paper, poster project, visiting a vet or shelter and breed display. The questions will reflect the information that the Junior Achiever should be able to learn and answer questions over during judging. The test is an open book test over the questions in that level. The questions are comprehensive and include past questions from previous levels and the newest questions from the level the Junior Achiever is working on. The first two levels will be presented in this packet. All this information is available online. The mentor is an important part of the Junior Achiever program. A Junior Achiever will select a mentor to help him/her through the program. The mentor will be responsible for seeing that the work is completed on each level and will sign off the checklist when they complete the level. The mentor can not be a parent and will be instrumental in teaching and guiding the Junior Achiever. There are several requirements included in the program that can be done at any level and must be completed to finish the program as a Senior Level Junior Achievers.
